Job Title: Learning and Pastoral Support Officer   Actual Annual Salary: £22,185 - £24,203 (Based on hours and working weeks)   Full Time Equivalent Salary: £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D). Based on 37 hours per week, all year round.   Contract Type : Fixed-Term   Contract Length: Fixed until 31/08/2027   Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time only plus INSETS  Additional role info: Working Pattern, Monday to Friday 6 hours per day  Provisional Start Date: September 2026  Are you passionate about helping children thrive both academically and personally?  We are seeking a dedicated Learning & Pastoral Support Officer (Primary) to play a vital role in supporting pupils' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and achievement. Working closely with teachers, families and academy leaders, you will build positive relationships, provide targeted pastoral and academic interventions, deliver high-quality learning activities and support the creation of a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment.  The successful candidate will be committed to safeguarding, have excellent communication skills and be able to motivate and inspire pupils to overcome barriers to learning. You will also provide planned PPA cover, support pupil progress and champion high expectations across the academy.    About you:  You will have:  A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting or transferable knowledge of safeguarding.  Current successful school experience with a responsibility for student welfare / raising achievement.  Experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with students and having appropriate contact with families and carers of children.  An understanding of the needs and values of different communities, in particular the different cultures the academy serves.  Knowledge of academy policies, particularly those on Race Equality, Cultural Diversity and Health and Safety.  Ability to travel independently to undertake home visits and attend meetings at other locations as required by the role.  Applicants are advised to refer to the full requirements of the role in the attached job description and person specification, prior to submitting an application.    About King’s Academy:   King’s Oak Academy is situated in the heart of the South Gloucestershire community and is within easy commuting distance of Bristol and Bath.
