About the role

The Directors of St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring, and highly motivated Achievement Support Assistant (L2 TA) to work as part of the team at St John of Beverley VC Academy supporting teaching and learning with a particular focus on supporting vulnerable pupils including those with SEND. 32.5 hours per week, term time only plus 2 training days. The successful candidate will work across the school giving appropriate support for pupils of all abilities, some of whom have SEND. You will support teaching staff with the children’s social, emotional and academic progress, delivering interventions to enhance pupils learning and provide supervision and care of children at various times of the day. We are looking to appoint someone who: can establish productive working relationships with children, acting as a role model and setting high expectations; is kind, caring, energetic and enthusiastic; can demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding all children within our school; encourages pupils to interact with others and engage all children in learning activities led by the teacher; has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enjoys working within a supportive team; is well organised, flexible and creative; is willing to participate fully in ensuring inclusion of all children. uses their initiative to ensure the best possible support for pupils and families is keen to continue to develop professionally The successful candidate may: Have experience in supporting the teaching of Phonics Have a paediatric first aid certificate.
