Food & Textiles Technician & School Meals Supervisory Assistant   Total of 21 hours per week    Wednesday – Friday 8:00am-3.30pm   Start Date: 1st September 2026 Term time only plus one Trust Development Day and one school INSET day.   Food & Textiles Technician    6 hours per day  Grade 3 SCP 5 School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA)   1 hour per day  Grade 1 SCP 3 This is an exciting opportunity to join our support team at Ralph Allen in this dual role.      Working as a Food Technology & Textiles Technician within the Design & Technology Department, duties will include preparing materials and equipment for all lessons and providing technical and general assistance to teachers and pupils.  Experience of working in a school environment; food technology/textiles environment would be an advantage.     This role also includes 1 hour per day on lunchtime assistant duties.  Lunchtime is a really important part of the day so we want to appoint somebody who is keen to make a difference to a child’s experience at school.      You should enjoy working with children and understand how to provide for their needs in a positive and caring manner.      Reliability, flexibility and confidentiality are crucial qualities required for this dual position.    Full training will be provided    Ralph Allen is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children: the successful applicant must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with past employers and will need to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.
