Hemblington Nursery Role 1:1 Nursery Assistant (Medical Needs) Scale - National Living Wage Β£24,522 or Β£27,782 FTE (age dependent) Working Hours: 18 hours per week Working Days: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Contract Type: Temporary contract until July 2027 The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the child in accordance with the provisions outlined in their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This will involve promoting the child's learning, development, wellbeing, and inclusion within the nursery environment, while ensuring their individual needs are met at all times. The role will require the successful applicant to undertake specialist medical training to support the child with administering feed fluids and medication via his gastrostomy throughout the day so he remains hydrated, when necessary. The candidate must be able to carry out all aspects of the child's care and support programme as detailed within their EHCP and any associated care plans. The successful candidate will demonstrate: A calm, patient and professional approach Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Compassion, understanding and empathy A commitment to supporting children's development and wellbeing The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers and external professionals An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Previous experience of working with young children and/or children with additional needs is desirable; however, full training will be provided for the specific medical requirements of the role.
