TEACHING ASSISTANT (LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT) – FIXED TERM Da Vinci Academy, Derby, part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Learning Support Assistant) to join our committed team. This role is vital in supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the academy, helping pupils to access the curriculum, achieve their potential and thrive within an inclusive learning environment. A key aspect of the role will involve supporting pupils with SEND and other vulnerable learners, both within the classroom and through targeted interventions. Key responsibilities: β€’ Support individual pupils and small groups in accessing learning and making progress. β€’ Assist teachers with the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities. β€’ Deliver and monitor targeted interventions within the classroom and Learning Centre. β€’ Support pupils with SEND to participate fully in school life and achieve the best possible outcomes. β€’ Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an effective behaviour management strategy. β€’ Prepare learning resources and adapt materials to meet individual pupil needs. β€’ Build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external agencies. β€’ Support pupils' personal, social and emotional development and contribute to their wellbeing and safeguarding. β€’ Assist with breaktime, lunchtime and educational visit supervision as required. β€’ Maintain accurate records and provide administrative support relating to SEND provision. We are looking for someone who: β€’ Enjoys working with children and young people and is approachable, patient and supportive. β€’ Has experience of working with children, ideally within an educational setting. β€’ Has experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs. β€’ Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. β€’ Has strong communication and teamwork skills. β€’ Is organised, reliable and committed to helping pupils succeed. β€’ Promotes inclusion, equality and respect for all members of the school community. β€’ Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics together with a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
