About the role

Stowmarket High School has an exciting future. Our enriching curriculum seeks to give our students every access to knowledge, skills and experiences to help them prepare for the future and encourage them to be independent, creative, confident and socially responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. We are looking to appoint a caring SEN practitioner to take responsibility for coordinating interventions for SEN students. The role will support students whose needs prevent them from consistently accessing mainstream lessons, ensuring the correct interventions are delivered. Hours for this role are 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus 1 week), intially fixed-term to 31st August 2027. The successful candidate will: Have a keen interest in promoting students’ wellbeing and resilience Have an understanding of behaviour management strategies Have experience of delivering interventions Have good communications skills, both oral and written Be able to remain calm under pressure Be able to manage their own workload effectively and have good prioritisation skills Be wholly dedicated to safeguarding pupils.
