As a Lunchtime supervisor, you’ll be more than just a watchful eye — you’ll be a friendly face, a role model, and a source of encouragement and engagement. You’ll help make lunchtimes a positive, calm, and enjoyable part of the day, ensuring children feel safe, supported, and ready to return to learning with energy and focus. About You: What You'll Do Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground, and other areas during the lunch break in accordance with the school’s pupil management, discipline, behaviour and bullying policies. Encourage positive games, inclusion, and respectful behaviour among pupils. Promote fun games that allow children to safely explore through play and competitions. Manage minor first aid needs and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate staff member. To complete the necessary records with regard to any incidents. Help sports leaders to set up games and sports as authorised by a member of teaching staff. Ensure equipment is tidied away and children are taking responsibility for this from your lead. Be a positive role model, fostering kindness, cooperation, and respect. To help children with the correct use of cutlery, promoting good table manners and encouraging children to eat a variety of foods. Ensure lunch time leaders (children) are supported in doing their jobs at lunch and shown how to complete certain tasks if needed. What You'll Bring A caring, patient, and approachable nature and the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues. Good communication skills and a calm, confident manner alongside reliability and a strong sense of responsibility. A passion for creating fun experiences for children in a safe environment. Experience working with children (desirable but not essential) A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
