About us Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy opened in January 1965 as The Blessed John Houghton Catholic School to provide a secondary Catholic education in the local area. The school has grown in size and reputation ever since. We are an 11-16 comprehensive school, providing education for girls and boys of all abilities and we pride ourselves on our inclusive nature. You will be responsible for: Working with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion Giving support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement What are we looking for?
