School is a thriving and popular secondary school with a strong sense of
community and a commitment to providing a positive and supportive learning
environment. We
are seeking to appoint a highly organised and professional Governance
Professional (Clerk to Governors) to support our Governing Board. This is a
key role providing high-quality administrative and governance support,
helping to ensure the effective and compliant operation of the board. This
role is offered on an annualised hours basis, with a total of 266 hours per
year. These hours are worked flexibly across the academic year to meet the
needs of the governing body. Work
is not evenly distributed week to week. The majority of hours will be worked
during term time to support governing board and committee meetings, with
lighter periods during school holidays. Attendance at scheduled evening
meetings is required, and occasional daytime meetings may also be requested.
The role also includes time for preparation, minute taking, follow‑up actions, and
ongoing governance support. The
annualised hours arrangement provides flexibility in how working time is
organised, while ensuring that the total contracted hours are fulfilled over
the year. Any hours worked in excess of the contracted 266 hours will be paid
as overtime in accordance with the School’s policy.

We are looking for someone who: Has strong administrative experience and excellent
organisational skills Has excellent attention to detail and can produce
clear and accurate written records Is able to manage confidential information
appropriately Can work independently and manage competing
deadlines Has strong communication and interpersonal skills Is confident using Microsoft Office and able to
learn new systems quickly Has an interest in governance and willingness to develop
knowledge of relevant legislation
