About the role

We are looking for someone to work in our exceptional, caring school and for someone who believes in creating an environment for children that is fun, safe, exciting, ambitious and full of care. We want our children to feel nurtured, listened to and to know that every adult in our school will β€˜think outside the box’ to ensure their days are excellent. You will be expected to assist the class teacher within the classroom as well as taking small groups of children or 1:1 and supporting them. Key skills we are looking for include; working with initiative, being pro-active, building relationships with children and families and being flexible. You may be required to work in different classrooms within the school. Our teaching assistants are not attached to one class, they work across the school. The work is varied. For this role, you will need to: have previous experience of working with primary aged children within a school setting, preferably KS1 or KS2. have confidence in dealing with pupils with different abilities and additional needs possess good interpersonal and communication skills know how to build relationships with children, families and colleagues be good at working as part of a wider team demonstrate some understanding of The National Curriculum have up to date knowledge of assessing children be able to work on your own with groups of children, directing and adapting learning according to the needs and expected outcomes have an up to date knowledge of safeguarding children be adaptable, flexible and resilient to the day to day rigours of school life.
