To
devise rotas for the effective use of all Lunchtime staff.
Re-organise
during staff absences, in order to maintain appropriate supervision
ratios.
Supervise
Lunchtime staff in their duties.
Support
the induction process for new members of the lunchtime team.
To
supervise and ensure the welfare of the children during the lunchtime
break both inside and outside the school buiding. In case of wet weather, supervise the
children inside the school as directed.
To
recognise health and safety is a responsibility of every employee, to take
reasonable care of self and
others
and to comply with the Schools Health and Safety policy and any school-specific
procedures / rules that
apply to this role.
Assist
with preparing the hall ready for lunch service.
Ensure
that the tables and the area are clean and clear of rubbish for the
children to begin lunch and that they are clean and tidy for the afternoon
school session.
To
monitor the behaviour of the children at all times, in conjunction with
the schoolβs Behaviour Policy.
Assist
children with the times and locations of any lunchtime activities and
ensure that they have returned on time to their classroom for the
afternoon session.
Administer
First Aid as required.
Ensure
that all accidents are recorded in the Accident Book and reported in order
that any appropriate action may be taken. Report head injuries to the office
staff if treatment given.
Ensure
all safeguarding concerns are recorded on CPOMs.
Ensure
that all children are engaged in suitable activities. Be pro-active and
vigilant regarding any situations
that
may be a cause for concern e.g. bullying or children isolated from mainstream
activities. Take appropriate action to resolve these issues and report them to
the relevant class teacher.
Engage
with the children in play activities where an adult role model is required
and to encourage children to play co-operatively together.
Encourage
the children to treat each other and equipment with respect e.g. putting
play equipment away at
the
end of lunchtime.
Retain
the confidentiality on all aspects of school life.
To
promote the welfare of children and to support the school in safeguarding
children through relevant policies and procedures.
To
promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone
with fairness and dignity.
Any other duties that
reasonably fall within the limits of the post which may be allocated after
consultation with postholder.
