As the literal face and voice of our school, you will act as the first point of contact for all visitors, parents, and callers, ensuring a warm, professional, and secure welcome. This dynamic role beautifully balances front-of-house reception excellence with vital behind-the-scenes administrative support. Key Responsibilities: First Impressions & Reception: Welcome parents, carers, and visitors with the utmost professionalism; manage incoming phone calls and school emails; and maintain a safe, secure, and tidy reception area in line with safeguarding procedures. Administrative Support: Produce high-quality digital and print correspondence, manage student records (using systems like Arbor), and coordinate school communication, newsletters, and digital files. Admissions & Transitions: Assist with the administration of student intake and departures, ensuring accurate record-keeping and data protection compliance. School Life Support: Help coordinate school events, transition days, room bookings, and diary management, while ensuring consistent school branding across all materials. Community & Culture: Promote the schoolβs ethos, cultivate nurturing relationships with students, staff, and families, and assist with basic first aid (training provided) when required. About You: We are looking for a calm, empathetic, and highly organised individual who thrives in a bustling environment and loves interacting with people. You will lead by example with integrity, resilience, and a positive, solution-focused attitude. Our Ideal Candidate Has: Education: A GCSE or equivalent (Level 2) qualification in English and Maths. An NVQ in Business Administration or level 3 IT/typing certificates are highly desirable. Experience: Proven experience working in an office, reception, or clerical environment. Experience working within a school setting or using the Arbor database is a major plus. Technical Skills: Strong IT literacy, including practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and excellent typing skills. Communication & People Skills: Exceptional spoken and written communication skills. You must be a good listener who can handle challenging or stressful situations with kindness, patience, and absolute confidentiality. Work Ethic: A methodical approach to managing your workload, strong attention to detail, and the flexibility to work both independently and as a trusted team player.
