About the role

Finance Apprentice Location: Connect MAT Head Office (Stanley, County Durham) with some travel to Wellfield School, Wingate Full-time Apprenticeship contract Fixed term for a year with possible extension for duration of qualification Connect Multi Academy Trust is seeking a motivated Finance Apprentice to join our Central Finance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards an AAT qualification. You will support day-to-day finance operations, including: Processing purchase invoices and raising sales invoices Maintaining accurate financial records Supporting basic accounting tasks and reporting Providing administrative support to the Finance team What We’re Looking For GCSEs (incl. Maths & English) and A-levels (or equivalent) Strong numeracy and attention to detail Good IT skills and willingness to learn financial systems Organised, reliable and keen to develop a career in Finance Ability to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a team What we offer: A structured apprenticeship programme with a recognised qualification (e.g. AAT) On-the-job training and mentorship from experienced Finance professionals Hands on experience in the Finance Team Positive, supportive Trust environment Connect Multi-Academy Trust is legally obligated to process a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before making appointments to relevant posts. The DBS check will reveal both spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and bind-overs as well as pending prosecutions, which aren't 'protected' under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and check to establish that a person is not barred from 'regulated activity' as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. Please note that we operate a probationary period of 4 months across all jobs in the Trust. You will receive a comprehensive induction to support you to successfully pass your probation.
