Higher Level Teaching Assistant Contract Type: Fixed Term until 31 August 2027 Pay Grade: Grade G8 to G2 Full Time Salary: £26,824 to £28,598 Actual Salary: £9,123.37 to £9,726.75 Hours: 15 hours per week, 38 weeks a year. Starting: 1 September 2026 We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional HLTA to work with our children at Isham, who understands the learning and pastoral needs of primary children. The role would entail working alongside our teachers collaboratively, assisting with the planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. This role will support within the classroom, but also at lunchtimes running clubs for the children twice a week. Isham has always embraced the ‘whole’ child, ensuring academic rigour is set within a wider theological and educational context. We understand that the Arts, Sport and Faith together with good pastoral, spiritual & mental health support drive standards far more rapidly than any diet restricted to English & Maths and, thus, these feature heavily in our school. We are looking to appoint someone who: Is enthusiastic, approachable and friendly will ensure all children feel safe, happy and able to learn, will create a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment. Working collaboratively alongside our Teaching team. understands how to tackle challenging behaviour in children with respect and understanding, following the school’s Behaviour Policy. is supportive of the ethos of a Church and Trust school. understands our children and our community and who is able to build supportive and respectful relationships with children whilst maintaining confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct. who is prepared to undertake appropriate CPD to develop their skills including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection training. understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children’s welfare - both at home and in school. although not essential, an interest or specialism within Music, the Arts or within sport would be desirable.
