We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher of Design and Technology (M1 only) to join Bristol Metropolitan Academy on a fixed-term secondment until 31 August 2027. You will play a key role in delivering a broad and engaging DT curriculum that fosters creativity, develops technical skills, and ignites a love of innovation in our students.
At Bristol Metropolitan Academy, you will join an established and collaborative Design and Technology team, supported by two dedicated technicians who assist with lesson delivery and preparation. Our well-equipped facilities include specialist workshops, kitchens, and textiles classrooms, all resourced with modern equipment to enhance both your teaching and studentsβ learning experiences.
As a teacher within CLF, you will set high expectations that inspire and challenge pupils, create a safe and stimulating learning environment, and support all students to make strong progress regardless of their starting points. You will contribute to the design and delivery of an ambitious curriculum, helping students to build practical skills, resilience, and confidence both within and beyond the classroom.

a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent teaching qualification with strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology
able to deliver a high-quality Design and Technology curriculum and teach engaging, well-structured lessons that promote creativity, independence and a love of learning
able to plan sequences of learning that build on prior knowledge and enable all pupils to make good progress, using effective assessment to inform teaching
able to differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those from key identified groups such as pupil premium, looked after children, SEND and high attaining students
committed to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment where high expectations of behaviour and mutual respect underpin strong relationships
