Milton Mount Primary School is seeking to appointment a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support our EY, KS1 and KS2 classes, commencing as soon as possible. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting high‑quality teaching and learning across the school. Under the direction of the teaching team, you will deliver planned lessons to whole classes as part of routine timetabling (e.g. PPA cover and leadership time) and provide additional support on an ad‑hoc basis for teacher absence. You will also contribute to planning, delivering and evaluating interventions for individuals and groups of pupils. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering learning activities to whole classes and providing feedback on pupil engagement and progress. Planning, organising and evaluating small‑group or targeted intervention sessions. Managing structured learning activities that motivate and engage pupils. Supporting pupils’ academic, emotional and social development. Promoting positive behaviour and building strong relationships with pupils and colleagues. Supporting literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum access for all learners. Using ICT to enhance both professional practice and pupils’ learning. Contributing to record‑keeping and communicating with parents/carers as appropriate. Providing day‑to‑day guidance for classroom support staff where relevant. Upholding the school’s safeguarding responsibilities and maintaining confidentiality at all times. We are looking for someone who: Enjoys working with children and is committed to securing the best possible outcomes for them. Has experience in a school or similar educational setting. Is confident delivering learning to individuals, groups and whole classes. Demonstrates strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills. Has an understanding of effective teaching methods and how to adapt learning to meet individual needs. Builds excellent working relationships with pupils and adults.
