Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale C: £12.85 to £13.05 per hour (plus holiday pay) Casual Contract, Variable Hours Start Date: September 2026 Jane Austen College is recruiting for reliable and hardworking people to join our exam invigilation team. We are looking for people who can be available on a casual and flexible basis to invigilate external and internal examinations. The role also involves providing assistance as scribes or readers to pupils who need extra support in exams. The main examination period is May and June but there are other times throughout the year when invigilators are required. We do require a commitment that you will be available for mock exams, November and February/March, in addition to May and June which is our peak period for examinations. The role holder will ensure exams are carried out fairly and in accordance with the rules set out by the examination board. Previous experience would be helpful although not essential, as training will be provided. What You Will Be Doing To ensure the fair and proper conduct of exams in an environment that enables a pupil to perform at their best. You will also be attentive, punctual, and capable of managing unexpected situations.
