Pastoral Support Assistant and Deputy DSL

Why this role matters  Our students arrive with ambition, but for some, success depends on the strength of the support around them. They need a trusted adult who will listen, act, and advocate, ensuring that their wellbeing is prioritised and that barriers are addressed quickly and effectively. You won’t simply provide pastoral support; you will: Act as a key safeguarding presence within the UTC, supporting and deputising for the DSL Respond to concerns with professionalism, care, and a clear understanding of procedures Build trusted relationships with students, enabling them to feel safe, heard, and supported Work closely with families, staff, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes Deliver targeted interventions to strengthen emotional wellbeing, resilience, and self-regulation
