Clyst Vale is a thriving and vibrant 11- 16 Community College situated five miles from Exeter. We remain the only Secondary school in Devon to be accredited Gold Rights Respecting School status. The SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) Department works closely with subject teams, pastoral staff, and parents, to provide support for students with a wide range of SEND. We pride ourselves on our child-centred approach which looks to build upon success and enable all students to fulfil their potential. Students with SEND are included in all mainstream lessons with access to our full curriculum offer and effective packages of support to enable them to succeed. The role Starting Thursday 3rd September, we have the opportunity for someone to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. You will be joining a well-established, supportive, and successful department that has a strong team ethos. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an expanding, professional and passionate team. You will provide support for individual and groups of students within mainstream classes across the full range of subjects. You might also support small groups of students who are in receipt of intervention packages. No experience is necessary, although GCSE (or equivalent) grade C Maths and English are desirable. We are looking for applicants with a warm and caring approach towards students, high expectations and a passion for working with young people. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous experience or for someone who is looking to move into education for the first time. We offer comprehensive training to all candidates, especially those who have never undertaken the role before and there are opportunities for continued professional development whilst in post.
