(SPECIALIST) TEACHING & LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT X3 VACANCIES GANTON SCHOOL Grade & Scale point: 4, Scp 5-7 Salary: Β£25,583 - Β£26,403 FTE, Β£19,644 - Β£20, 273 Actual, Β£13.26 - Β£13.69/hr Hours of work: 33 hours per week, Mon & Weds 8.50am β 4.25pm, Tues 8.50am β 3.40pm, Thurs & Fri 8.50am β 3.35pm Contract: Fixed term contract until August 2027, Term-time + 5 days (195 days) Start date: 1 September 2026 Ganton School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Teaching and Learning Support Assistant to work with our incredible pupils who have a wide range of special educational needs. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled individual who holds the relevant qualifications and has the knowledge and experience to support learning across our primary department and fulfil the professional responsibilities outlined in the job specification. Many of our pupils have complex medical needs alongside learning and/or communication difficulties. You will work both one-to-one and with small groups, providing tailored support to help pupils access the curriculum and assisting with personal care routines. JOB REQUIREMENTS: β’ Contribute to planning and evaluation of learning, providing detailed and regular feedback to teachers on learnersβ attainment, progress, behaviour and attitudes to learning β’ Supervises and provides specialist support for individuals with SEN, disabilities, personal and health needs, EAL, etc. ensuring their safety and access to learning activities β’ Support the academic, social, emotional and development of individuals and groups of learners understanding clearly how children, young people and vulnerable adults with complex and Special Educational Needs learn β’ Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education / Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes β’ Sets challenging and demanding expectations and promotes self-esteem and independence THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: β’ Understanding of National Curriculum, EYFS Guidance and other codes of practice e.g. SEN, Equalities, Safeguarding β’ Effective use of ICT to support teaching and learning β’ Ability to interact well using courtesy, tact and diplomacy and negotiation skills β’ Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues and children and young people.
