Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale H: Β£18,534 to Β£19,572 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (Β£34,434 - Β£36,363 full time/full year equivalent) Part Time: 22 hours per week over 3 days (Working days can be discussed at interview. Working Weeks: 40 weeks Start Date: September 2026 Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form is looking for a Form Tutor to provide academic support and guidance to our pupils, working to maximise pupil aspirations, remove barriers to learning and improve pupil achievement. Through regular form time delivery, 1:1 mentoring sessions, liaison with parents and other college staff, our Form Tutor will help pupils achieve their potential. A key aspect of the post will involve encouraging pupils to develop a strong work ethic and supporting students towards their future pathways. This is an exciting, challenging role for someone looking to work in a fast-paced and progressive environment. You will have excellent communication skills and be flexible to adapt to your workload. What You’ll Be Doing To provide academic and pastoral support and careers guidance to our students, working to maximise student aspirations, remove barriers to learning and improve student achievement. To analyse and identify barriers to attendance and attainment and put effective measures in place to support improvement. To support students through the careers programme to identify a post sixth form pathway and assist their application process including reference writing. To lead on the organisation of raising achievement related tasks, events and activities such as intervention schedules, personalised timetables and mentoring sessions. About You: The successful candidate must have a commitment to changing lives and outcomes for young people. You will be highly empathetic and organised, actively promoting emotional resilience, goal-setting, and study skills to bridge the gap between educational achievement and personal well-being. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, professional academic guidance, and pastoral dedication. Essential: Degree level or equivalent. Ability to deliver high quality, academic mentoring that fully meets the needs of our pupils. Ability to work with pupils to analyse data to set challenging targets for improvement and plan actions. Ability to make decisions, identify and solve problems based on thorough analysis and sound judgement. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
