We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team 4 days per week, working hours from 8:15 - 15:45. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences, including leading whole-class lessons in the absence of a teacher and supporting small groups and individual pupils. You will play a key part in helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Deliver lessons to whole classes during planned and unplanned teacher absence Plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities for individuals, groups, and classes Monitor pupil progress and provide clear feedback to support improvement Support pupilsβ literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum learning Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs, including SEND Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional resilience Pupil Support Support pupilsβ academic, social, and emotional development Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment Contribute to pupil assessments and record-keeping Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and carers where appropriate Teamwork & Leadership Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school team Provide guidance and day-to-day support to other classroom support staff Contribute to school events and attend meetings and training sessions Uphold confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities at all times General Duties Supervise pupils during breaktimes as required Prepare and use learning resources, including ICT tools Support the planning and delivery of interventions Follow all school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour About You We are looking for someone who is: GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) First Aid trained (or willing to undertake training) Experienced in working with children or in a school setting Skilled in planning and delivering learning activities Strong literacy, numeracy, and organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Good understanding of safeguarding, SEND, and the curriculum Confident using ICT to support teaching and learning Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and resourceful Personal Qualities Passionate about working with children and supporting their development Positive, resilient, and motivated to make a difference Committed to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion Able to inspire, motivate, and build strong relationships In return we can offer you: the opportunity to work with an exceptional team of staff who are committed to the success and welfare of every child in our school high quality professional development both in school and as a member of the wider Greensand Multi Academy Trust an environment where innovation and inspirational ide
