The Job: Pleckgate High School seek to appoint a Religious Education Teacher on a part time basis working 0.4 FTE to join the school from 1st January 2027 (or from 1st September 2026 if possible). What does this job do? To successfully plan and teach a well-structured, RE and PSHE curriculum for pupils at KS3 and KS4. To demonstrate secure subject knowledge and a clear understanding of current developments in the teaching of RE. To monitor and effectively support the overall progress and development of pupils, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs. To effectively assess through excellent formative and summative strategies so that all pupils are successfully acquiring and retaining the most important knowledge and skills. To facilitate and encourage engaging learning experience which provides pupils with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential in RE. To contribute to raising standards of pupil attainment in RE and PSHE To make a positive contribution to the success of the department and ensure the RE/PSHE department is a high-profile department in school. What are the job requirements? Qualified Teacher Status. Qualified to at least degree level in a RE based subject/or adequate post degree conversion course. Experience of teaching Religious Education throughout the Key Stages and securing good outcomes. Knowledge of the requirements of the RE Curriculum. Knowledge of current educational developments and initiatives relating to the subject and their implications. Well-developed planning and organisational skills including time management and the ability to prioritise effectively. A relentless approach to securing the improvement of teaching and learning. Ability to deliver consistently high-quality lessons in Religious Education to pupils of all ages and abilities.
