We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed PSHE and Cover Teacher to join our team at Tewkesbury Academy. At M1 level, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching practice while delivering a high-quality, engaging PSHE curriculum and supporting the wider academy through planned lesson cover across a range of subjects.
Through your PSHE teaching, you will help students develop the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to navigate modern life with confidence. You will deliver an ambitious and inclusive curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering areas such as relationships, health and wellbeing, personal development, citizenship and preparation for life beyond school.
Alongside your PSHE responsibilities, you will provide classroom cover, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and uphold the academy’s high expectations for behaviour and engagement across all subjects and year groups.
Through both aspects of the role, you will foster resilience, respect and independence, supporting students to become responsible, reflective and successful learners.

About you
You will be:
A qualified teacher, or hold an equivalent teaching qualification, with a strong interest in delivering high-quality PSHE education.
Confident in delivering engaging PSHE lessons that support students’ personal development, wellbeing and understanding of key life skills.
Able to manage classroom cover effectively, delivering pre-set work across a range of subjects while maintaining high standards of behaviour and learning.
Skilled in building positive relationships with students, creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all pupils can succeed.
Committed to meeting the needs of all learners, including pupil premium, looked‑after children, SEND, EAL and high attaining students.
A strong communicator who is adaptable, organised and able to respond positively to the varied demands of a cover role.
Reflective and keen to develop your own classroom practice, particularly at the early stage of your teaching career (M1).
Supportive of
