Bligh Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive practice across our school, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, you will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, championing high-quality inclusive teaching and supporting staff to meet the needs of all learners. As SENCo, you will: Lead the day-to-day operation of the school's SEND policy and provision Identify, assess and monitor the progress of pupils with SEND Coordinate and oversee targeted interventions and support programmes Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure effective inclusive practice Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals to secure the best outcomes for pupils Maintain accurate SEND records and statutory documentation Coordinate Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes and annual reviews Advise, coach and support colleagues in SEND strategies and best practice Contribute to the development of a culture where all pupils feel valued, supported and able to succeed Undertake the role of Designated Looked After Child Teacher (DLACT) This is a rewarding opportunity to influence whole-school practice while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and families.
