Vacancy: Teaching Assistant Contract: Permanent Grade: TSPT 4, Point 12-13 Hours: 32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days) 8:30am - 3:30pm with 30-minute unpaid break School: Elmstead Woods Primary School Start: 1st September 2026 We are looking for a committed, hard-working, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate good classroom practice to join our experienced team. The successful candidate will be confident and willing to work collaboratively, committed and dedicated to improving children’s learning and have good numeracy and literacy skills. Previous experience of working in a school is essential and a Level 3 or equivalent teaching support qualification, together with knowledge of SEND would be an advantage. All members of staff are offered the opportunity and encouraged to undertake relevant training for their roles. Desired experience and knowledge: Educated to NVQ3 in childcare or equivalent Ability to relate well to children and adults Ability to work constructively as part of a team Experience of working with children in a primary school setting Experience of working with SEN pupils Experience as a play worker or working in an Early Years setting A good understanding of the complexities of ASD (however training will be provided) Experience working with students with speech and language needs Spring Trust strives to offer the very best education within our power to every child we can reach.
