Join Our Team: Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) At Springwell Alternative Academy we believe that every child deserves the best possible education to enable them to make good progress and realise their potential. Every employee in our school is instrumental in our pupils' progress and we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children. This role is essential in helping to create an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential. As a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. What you will do: Preparing the classroom ready for lessons Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students. Completing records/ pupils plans Leading small and whole class group work What you will bring: The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs. Experience in a school or similar setting Experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs Good standard of education with GCSE Maths and English NVQ L3 qualification, working towards or willing to complete Ideally a car driver Why join us?
