Working closely with teaching staff, you will play a vital role in preparing practical lessons, maintaining laboratory resources and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for our students. About the Role As Science Technician, you will provide high-quality technical support across the Science Department, ensuring practical lessons are delivered safely, efficiently and effectively. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and setting up equipment, chemicals and materials for practical science lessons Maintaining, servicing and safely storing scientific equipment Managing stock levels and supporting resource ordering Supporting teachers with practical activities and demonstrations Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidance Maintaining accurate records and inventories using digital systems Promoting a safe, organised and effective laboratory environment What We're Looking For We are seeking someone who: Essential: Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics Has experience working in a practical support, laboratory, school or technical environment Has experience working safely with equipment, materials or tools Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and attention to detail Can work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team Has strong communication and ICT skills Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people Desirable: Qualification or background in a science-related discipline Experience supporting practical science activities within a secondary school Knowledge of CLEAPSS guidance and science laboratory procedures Experience of stock control and resource management Health & Safety or COSHH training Why Join Consilium Academies?
