We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Assistant Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is committed to ensuring every student feels supported, valued, and challenged to succeed. Working closely with the Head of Year and the wider pastoral team, you will play a key role in providing high-quality pastoral care, supporting student welfare, promoting positive behaviour, improving attendance and engagement, and developing strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies. The Role The successful candidate will: Provide effective pastoral leadership and support for a designated year group Support the delivery of the Personal Development and PSHE curriculum. Lead on behaviour interventions, attendance monitoring and student engagement strategies. Support Form Tutors and contribute to the development of an inclusive and positive year group culture. Work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning. Monitor student progress and contribute to intervention programmes aimed at improving outcomes. Promote the school’s values, rewards systems and expectations for behaviour and conduct. We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has experience of working with young people in an educational, youth work, pastoral or safeguarding setting. Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Can manage challenging situations calmly, professionally, and effectively. Has strong organisational and administrative skills. Is committed to inclusion, equality and supporting the welfare of all students. Works effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
