Job purpose Work with class teachers to raise
the learning and attainment of pupils. Promote pupils’ independence,
self-esteem, confidence, and social inclusion. Support pupils individually or in
small groups so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, and
experience success. Support the teacher/HLTA in the
smooth and effective running of the class. Consistently promote positive
values, attitudes, and behaviour in line with the Catholic ethos of the school. Support pupils’ learning and
development with respect and consideration. Encourage pupils’ social and
emotional development. Help raise standards of achievement
for all pupils. Encourage all pupils to participate
fully in school life. Promote the inclusion and acceptance
of all pupils. Help pupils to develop independence
in their learning and daily routines.
