Job Title: Teacher of Humanities

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1 to UPS3)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week

We are searching for an inspirational Teacher of Humanities driven by a passion for outstanding teaching and meaningful learning experiences. Through your subject expertise, you will help deliver a curriculum that encourages students to explore people, places and past events, while broadening their perspectives and future horizons. Our focus on high standards, a vibrant curriculum and excellent teaching, empowers young people to grow into capable, curious and socially aware young adults.

About you

You will be:

A qualified teacher, or hold an equivalent teaching qualification, with strong subject knowledge in Humanities (e.g. History, Geography, Religious Education, or related disciplines).

Able to deliver the Humanities curriculum confidently, teaching high‑quality lessons across relevant key stages and fostering curiosity, critical thinking and a genuine love of Humanities learning.

Skilled in meeting the needs of learners from identified groups, including pupil premium, looked‑after children, SEND, EAL, and high‑attaining students, ensuring that all pupils can access and excel within the curriculum.

A strong communicator who embraces change, motivates colleagues, and builds positive, supportive relationships with students, staff and parents.

Able to recognise, value and support opportunities beyond the classroom, contributing to enrichment activities such as fieldwork, cultural visits, clubs, thematic projects and wider experiences that deepen students’ Humanities understanding.

Empowered to develop your own expert practice while supporting the growth and collaboration of others within the Humanities team and the wider academy.

Highly competent across all areas of the Teachers’ Standards, with substantial and sustained achievements if applying for a role on the Upper Pay Scale.
