About the role

Looking for a change in direction? Would you like to support pupils unable to attend their usual school due to a mental or physical health condition? Hospital and Outreach Education AP Academy (HOE) are currently seeking a proactive, confident and enthusiastic Reintegration Support Officer. We are looking for someone who will support the reintegration of pupils back to the main school following admission to a CAMHS Unit or who are part of our Bridge outreach provision. The role will also include supporting teachers delivering lessons to small groups of pupils, all of whom have mental or physical health challenges. This is a rare opportunity to join our welcoming team delivering education to a wonderful community of pupils. Hours: Full-time (37 hrs) or Part-time (min 30.75 hrs) Timing: From the 1st September 2026 Location: Based in Northampton, you will support pupils in our Delapre Learning Base in Northampton and may also need to travel to visit pupils’ homes and support reintegration at locations across Northamptonshire. Essentials: You must have experience of supporting children of secondary school age. You must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle as you will be required to drive between our teaching locations and pupils’ homes and schools during the working day. Motor insurance covering business use is required (usually you can add this to existing policies at little or no cost). Desirable: You will have existing experience of working with pupils with physical and mental health challenges. You will have experience of reintegrating pupils back to school following a period of absence. As a Trust, we value diversity and encourage applications from all members of society, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, disability or age. The academy is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust. HOE is part of the Skylark Partnership Trust, a growing multi academy trust which is for settings delivering education for pupils with medical needs. We have a climate of high expectations of pupils, despite the impact of their illness, enabling them to access education and fulfill their potential. This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful Alternative Provision Academy for children with medical needs. The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the core values and ethos of HOE and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced by pupils with medical and mental health difficulties in accessing education. You are welcome to contact us to find out more about the role before completing the application.
