Have experience of working with children with SEND and complex needs. About this Role We are looking to recruit Specialist Teaching Assistants to work under the guidance of the SENDCo to provide support for children with complex SEND: - Provide in class support to reduce barriers to learning - Use strategies to support emotional regulation and access to learning - Support the learning and welfare of our pupils - Deliver a combination of support on a one-to-one and small group basis either in or out of the classroom - Support teaching staff to help improve student outcomes Key Outputs 1. The postholder is required to work as part of a specialist team to support the learning and welfare of all targeted children. 2. As a specialist teaching assistant, you will be required to provide skilled support and intervention which increases pupil independence under the direction of the teacher and SENDCo.β― 3. This role includes organising and providing learning and educational activities, developing skills, supporting integration and transition, securing childrenβs physical and emotional well-being, whilst raising self-esteem and encouraging independence.β―β― 4. The role will involve delivering support for children with complex needs on a one to one and small group basis either in or out of the classroom. The post also involves working in partnership with parents/carers and families in order to build confidence and trust.β―β― 5. Under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCo, provide one to one support to pupils or work with groups of pupils on pre-planned activities - aiming to reinforce the teachers approach and to support the learning to maximise pupil progress and achievements.β― 6. To work alongside pastoral team-members to provide support to achieve positive outcomes and meet the needs of children, their families and school.β―β― 7.
