About the role

As Catering Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the college catering service, managing a dedicated team and ensuring the delivery of fresh, high-quality meals and hospitality services. You will play a key role in menu development, budget management, stock control and continuous service improvement, helping to create a positive dining experience for our college community. Key responsibilities include: Leading and managing the catering team, including recruitment, training and performance management. Planning, preparing and delivering nutritious, high-quality meals using fresh ingredients. Developing varied and innovative menus that appeal to students and staff. Managing food ordering, stock control and supplier relationships to ensure value for money. Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations. Organising staff rotas and production schedules to ensure an efficient service. Supporting hospitality and corporate events, including occasional evening and weekend functions. Delivering excellent customer service and responding positively to feedback. Contributing to the college's commitment to providing an outstanding experience for all students. What We're Looking For We are looking for a motivated and organised individual who: Has hospitality and catering qualifications, including a Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene qualification (or equivalent). Has significant experience in a chef management or catering management role. Has experience planning menus, managing budgets and controlling food costs. Can lead, motivate and develop a catering team to achieve high standards. Has excellent knowledge of food hygiene, nutrition, special dietary requirements and allergen management. Demonstrates strong organisational, communication and customer service skills.
