Part of the Aylsham Learning Federation   Tel: 01263 733270     Email: abarker@aylshamhigh.norfolk.sch.uk     Executive Headteacher: Mr Duncan Spalding    NOR: 1045 Age Range: 11-16years     Salary – ECT/MPR/UPR   Temporary – maternity cover   Part to Full Time   0.6 – 1.0 FTE will be considered   Required from 2 November 2026     We are looking for a committed, proactive and hardworking teacher of history to join our humanities team to cover a period of maternity leave.  We will consider applications for either part time (3 days per week/0.6FTE) or full time (1FTE).  This contract is due to start on Monday 2 November 2026, however due to the nature of maternity cover posts this date may change nearer the time.   Students enjoy history and achieve consistently very good outcomes in their GCSE examinations. This post represents an excellent professional development opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed teacher of history to develop their classroom practice by working as part of a strong and dedicated team of history teachers, as well as to develop their subject skills and knowledge. We are looking for someone who loves their subject and can communicate and share that passion with their students, colleagues, and the wider community.  We believe wholeheartedly in helping teachers improve through professional dialogue rather than top-down monitoring. Every teacher works with an experienced coach to develop their practice. You will lead high-quality CPD and research-based working groups, fostering a team dynamic rooted in openness and honesty.  Aylsham High School, Bure Valley School and John of Gaunt Infant and Nursery School are all part of Aylsham Learning Federation which supports the learning of children from nursery through to year 11. All schools are members of The Aylsham Cluster Trust, which along with other cluster schools, is focused on raising standards and improving the quality of life for our children and their families. All of our colleagues can benefit from discounted membership to our leisure facilities available through Aylsham Sports Hub along with reduced fees for our nursery located in Aylsham.
