Appointments can be made via the Principal’s PA (esmart@lfatsf.org.uk) Key information Hours : 40.75 per week Weeks :Term Time plus 5 Inset days Contract : Permanent Start Date: ASAP Salary : £30,000 Closing Date : Monday 27th April 2026 at 9.00am Job Purpose This role is key in supporting the inclusion, attendance, and academic progress of pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). This includes the delivery of targeted interventions, coordination of curriculum access for students out of mainstream lessons, and fostering pupil engagement in both academic and personal development. The Academic Support Lead will also contribute to lesson delivery and provide cover where required, often working independently. A key aspect of the role is to support the successful reintegration of pupils into mainstream lessons, working to reduce gaps in learning and ensure continuity of progress, while promoting a positive and inclusive school experience. Person Specification A strong desire to work with young people supporting education outcomes Effective communication and interpersonal skills with adults and young people Able to work under pressure and use own initiative Competent in using ICT Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience QTS desired but not essential Committed to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of young people in line with the academy safeguarding policies and procedures Able to maintain accurate records, including individual education learning plans.
