This post is 32.5 hours per week, fixed term for 1 year in the first instance. We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to provide support for a pupils with additional needs, to work within the main school. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to help the pupil access learning, develop independence, and feel fully included in the classroom environment. Key responsibilities: Providing individual support to a pupil/pupils with additional needs. Supporting the pupil to engage with learning activities and follow classroom routines. Implementing strategies from individual support or education plans. Encouraging the pupil’s social, emotional and communication development. Working collaboratively with teachers, wider staff and parents where appropriate. The ideal candidate will: Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable). Be patient, empathetic and flexible. Have good communication and teamwork skills. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
