tasks
General
Have a clear understanding of the
vision of the school. Promote and support the Christian
ethos and values of the school. Promote the safety and wellbeing of
pupils. Comply with the school’s
safeguarding procedures and ensure that any concerns relating to the safety
or welfare of children are reported immediately to the designated
safeguarding lead or the deputy designated safeguarding lead. Maintain good relationships with
pupils, treating them with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual
respect. Consistently act in a calm,
respectful and supportive manner towards colleagues, parents, visitors, local
advisors and members of the local community. Develop effective professional relationships
with colleagues, showing a willingness to draw on and offer advice and
support. Follow the school’s policies and
procedures, ensuring consistency and a commitment to the school’s strategic
plan, contributing towards the goals and targets.
Teaching and Classroom Management
Create a safe and stimulating
learning environment that supports learning and in which pupils feel secure
and confident. Plan work in accordance with EYFS/
National Curriculum schemes of work and programmes of study. Plan and teach well-structured
lessons, following the school curriculum. Assess, monitor, record and report
on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making
accurate and productive use of assessment. Adapt teaching to respond to the
strengths and needs of pupils. Plan lessons carefully with regard
to the safety and well-being of pupils. Set high expectations which
inspire, motivate and challenge all pupils. Promote good progress and outcomes
by all pupils. Implement statutory tests ensuring
the DfE requirements are fully met. Work in partnership with other
staff ensuring equality of opportunity for all children. Keep up-to-date with current
pedagogy, research-informed practice and statutory government requirements. Plan effectively to meet the needs
of pupils with additional needs, and in collaboration with the SENDCo,
prepare, implement, monitor and review My Plans, My Plan+ and EHCPs. Ensure the good behaviour of all
children in the teacher's care, and to develop within them positive attitudes
towards adults, peers, property and work. Deal with any inappropriate behaviour
in the context of the school behaviour policy and anti-bullying policy. Maintain an orderly and purposeful
atmosphere in the classroom and around the school and to check the attendance
