Job Description We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of English to join our fantastic team at Chorlton High School on a fixed term basis for 1 Academic Year (1st September 2026 - 31st August 2027). Can deliver high-quality teaching that inspires curiosity, enthusiasm and a love of learning. Has high expectations of student achievement, behaviour and engagement. Is committed to inclusive practice and ensuring every student can succeed. Can demonstrate the ability to secure positive outcomes for young people. Works collaboratively with colleagues and contributes positively to a strong team culture. Has excellent organisational and communication skills. Is keen to contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and pastoral support. Main Purpose of the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students in their care. They will fulfil the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers, meeting the Professional Standards for Teachers appropriate to their career stage. The key purpose of the role is to secure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement in English, ensuring all students make strong progress and are supported to reach their full potential. The post holder will be accountable to the Curriculum Leader, Senior Leader and ultimately the Headteacher.
