Holy Trinity Catholic and Church of England School · Barnsley, Yorkshire and the Humber
SENDCO L8-L10 (This is a Leadership role and therefore not suitable for ECTs) To start as soon as possible At Holy Trinity, our leadership team, staff and governors are united by a shared ambition: to nurture every individual so that they can flourish, achieve their full potential and grow into independent, aspirational and caring young people. We are a proudly inclusive and welcoming school where relationships sit at the heart of everything we do. Our relational approach enables pupils to feel known, valued and supported, while also being challenged to achieve their very best. This is an exciting time to join Holy Trinity. We are a school on a journey of innovation, development and rapid improvement, building on strong foundations of care, commitment and high expectations. We are determined to raise standards, strengthen provision and create outstanding life chances for all pupils. Our in-house professional development programme supports staff to deliver the very best teaching and learning, aligned with the Holy Trinity Standard and our school development priorities. Staff are encouraged to be reflective, to identify their own development needs and to grow as confident, skilled professionals within a supportive and forward-looking community. Our pupils are encouraged to be ambitious for themselves and for others. We nurture a growth mindset, celebrate individuality and create an environment where every child is supported to belong, participate and succeed. Strong, positive relationships underpin our cohesive school culture, and both staff and pupils are proud to be part of Holy Trinity. Our recent Ofsted report recognised that we are an “inclusive and welcoming school”, and we are committed to building on this further through high-quality teaching, excellent pastoral care and ambitious SEND provision. Holy Trinity is a 3-16 Catholic and Church of England through school, which opened in September 2012 in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art building. We have a 470-place primary phase and a 700-place secondary phase. Our 3-16 through-school model creates exciting opportunities to work collaboratively across phases, enhance progress over time and support a seamless transition between Key Stages. Our distinctive Catholic and Church of England ethos guides and supports all aspects of school life. Rooted in our Christian values, we are committed to developing a community where pupils and staff are treated with dignity, compassion and respect. Ofsted recognised that “lessons are calm” and that pupils benefit from “stable routines”. Our behaviour policy builds on this by promoting consistency, positive relationships and a relational approach to supporting pupils. Our pupils respond well to carefully planned lessons, clear expectations and adults who know them well, believe in them and help them to succeed. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and strategic SENDCo who can lead with clarity, ambition and impact. Our school has a higher-than-
