Strong subject knowledge in mathematics, typically supported by a degree in mathematics or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards an approved teaching qualification such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Experience planning and delivering engaging mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and, where applicable, Key Stage 5.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, including high achievers and those requiring additional support.
Strong classroom management skills to create a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
Experience assessing student progress, analysing attainment data, and using assessment outcomes to inform teaching strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.
Knowledge of the UK mathematics curriculum, examination specifications, and assessment requirements, including those of organisations such as AQA, Pearson Edexcel, and OCR.
Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, equality, diversity, and inclusion, with an understanding of relevant school policies and statutory guidance.
Willingness to participate in continuing professional development (CPD), departmental initiatives, extracurricular activities, and wider school responsibilities.
