We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant - Pupil Specific (with personal care) to join our school in September 2026 Start Date: 01 Sept 2026 Hours: 30hrs and 50mins per week. 39 weeks per year (term time +1 week) Salary: Scale D, £13.47 - £13.68/hour. Approx. £18,340 - £18,630/year (£25,989 - £26,403/per year FTE based on a 37hr week – Please note this salary will be paid pro rata) Temporary till 31st Aug 2027 Email: recruitment@westnorfolkacademiestrust.co.uk St Clements High School : https://www.stclementshigh.org.uk/ Purpose of the Job Working 1-1 with a student you will implement the strategies and advice included in their Education, Health and Care Plan and assist with personal care (toileting support) including moving and handling with specialist equipment. Full training will be provided. Work with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of the student while also promoting their independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion. You will provide support so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, and experience a sense of achievement. You will liaise with external professionals alongside the SENCO. You will have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team, have a nurturing and caring nature and the ability to set high expectations in order to motivate and inspire. Responsibilities, but not limited to: Personal and professional conduct Teaching assistants should uphold public trust in the education profession by: · Having proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school in which they work as professional members of staff. · Demonstrating positive attitudes, values and behaviours to develop and sustain effective relationships with the school community. · Having regard for the need to safeguard pupils’ wellbeing by following relevant statutory guidance along with school policies and practice. Knowledge and understanding Teaching assistants are expected to: · Acquire the appropriate skills, qualifications, and/or experience required for the teaching assistant role, with support from the school employer. · Demonstrate expertise and skills in understanding the needs of all pupils (including specialist expertise as appropriate) and know how to adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs. · Share responsibility for ensuring that their own knowledge and understanding is relevant and up to date by reflecting on their own practice, liaising with school leaders and accessing relevant professional development to improve personal effectiveness. · &n
