Full Time Equivalent Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1 to UPS3)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part-time, 26 hours per week (0.8FTE with non-working day Thursday and can be discussed at interview)

We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Design & Technology, with a specialism in Engineering and DT Timbers, to join our team at Tewkesbury Academy. With your subject expertise, you will deliver a high‑quality and engaging D&T curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, developing students’ creativity, technical knowledge and practical capability. You will play a key role in teaching both engineering principles and timber-based design and manufacture, enabling students to design, prototype and produce high‑quality outcomes using a range of materials, tools and processes within a well-equipped workshop environment.
Through your teaching, students will gain a strong understanding of the full design process, from initial concept and research through to development, testing and evaluation, alongside core engineering concepts such as structures, forces, mechanisms and material properties. You will foster precision, independence and a strong culture of safe working practices, while encouraging innovation and problem solving through hands-on, practical learning.

About you
You will be:
A qualified teacher, or hold an equivalent teaching qualification, with strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology, particularly Engineering and DT Timbers.
Confident in delivering the D&T curriculum across relevant key stages, designing and teaching high-quality lessons that promote creativity, technical precision, practical workshop skills and a passion for designing and making with a range of materials, including timber.
Skilled in developing students’ understanding of the design process, material properties, workshop safety and manufacturing techniques, enabling them to produce high-quality, functional outcomes.
Skilled in meeting the needs of learners from identified groups, including pupil premium, looked‑after children, SEND, EAL and high attaining students, ensuring all pupils are supported, challenged and able to succeed within the D&T curriculu
