Food Department Technician Required for September 2026 37 hours per week / Term Time Only (44 weeks) This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of organisation, cleanliness and food safety. Key Responsibilities Preparing ingredients, equipment and teaching resources for practical lessons Supporting teachers and students during practical food sessions Maintaining food rooms, equipment and storage areas to a high standard Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and undertaking food shopping Completing cleaning, laundry and food hygiene routines Supporting examination preparation and coursework administration Monitoring equipment maintenance and reporting faults Assisting with departmental displays, resources and general administration We Are Looking For Someone Who: Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively Has excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness Understands the importance of food hygiene, health and safety procedures Works well independently and as part of a team Has good IT and administrative skills Is flexible, practical and enjoys supporting young people in their learning Previous experience in a food, catering, hospitality, education or technician role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
