Senior Teaching Assistants Required to work at The Fusion Academy within young people with Communication and interaction needs. Salary: Grade 7 Actual starting salary: £22,964.75 FTE £26,832.00 per annum 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year Start date: 30th October 2025 The Fusion Academy, a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with communication and interaction needs and/or autism. We are located in a new purpose built school in Barwell. The Fusion Academy is part of a Multi Academy Trust called Open Thinking Partnership. A flexible solution focussed approach to supporting young people of mainstream academic ability, whilst addressing their communication and interaction barriers to learning is crucial. You will have identified skills in supporting children and young people to access learning in a flexible and nurturing way within a specialist or mainstream environment. As a Senior Teaching Assistant you will work primarily within a classroom supporting engagement, with additional input for PSHE and Social Communication for students. You will work with the class teacher to put in place strategies that engage students and collaboratively develop learning sequences. With support, there will be some responsibility for planning for individuals and small groups, preparing resources and directing classroom support staff. You will lead class groups (between 7 and 10 students) when teachers are taking part in meetings and other identified developments.
