Job Summary β Teaching Assistant Level 3
This role involves supporting the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging learning experiences both within and beyond the classroom. The postholder will work closely with pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to ensure all learners can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
The Teaching Assistant will provide targeted support through care and learning programmes, contribute to the development of EHCPs and behaviour plans, and help manage classroom activities and pupil behaviour. They will play a key role in promoting inclusion, independence, and positive relationships among pupils, while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals, the role includes assisting with lesson delivery, monitoring pupil progress, maintaining records, preparing resources, and carrying out administrative tasks. Occasional supervision of whole classes and involvement in assessment activities may also be required.
