Prepare, implement and deliver a well-structured and progressive MFL curriculum to pupils across the whole school. Play a fundamental role in providing a broad and engaging MFL curriculum across all year groups. Ensure schemes of work and curriculum developments are accurately in line with updates to the national curriculum. Effectively differentiate MFL lessons appropriately so that all pupils’ can access the school's vibrant MFL curriculum offer. To monitor, assess and record the progress of individual pupils (and groups) in accordance with school’s policy and procedures, reporting to the class teacher, Year Lead and Curriculum Lead. Provide verbal and (where necessary) written feedback to pupils and/or parents/carers on attainment in order to promote further progress. Assist staff to develop confidence and competence in teaching MFL by acting as a mentor/coach. Set appropriate learning and behaviour expectations of pupils, in line with the school’s behaviour policy, and support pupils appropriately to achieve these. Ensure that resources are appropriate and available in order to deliver high quality MFL lessons. Act as a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children to participate in MFL. Provide increased opportunities for children to participate in MFL activities beyond the classroom and school. To attend MFL focussed events with groups of pupils during school time and out of school time, as required. Liaise with outside agencies in relation to MFL related events/celebrations. Develop talent pathways for exceptional children. Provide 1:1 and small group sessions for children with exceptional talent. Attend appropriate CPD sessions relevant to the post.
