Learning Support Assistants Fixed Term Contract until 31/08/2027 Salary - Essex Scale 3 Point 6-7 £17,623.35 - £17,904.09 actual annual salary (plus £494.34 fringe allowance per annum) 30 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:10pm (40-minute unpaid break) 38 weeks per year - term time plus inset days Start date: 1st September 2026 A new opportunity has arisen, for enthusiastic, caring and committed Learning Support Assistants to join our successful team supporting students in the classroom environment. These roles are fixed-term contracts until 31st August 2027. These roles would suit candidates who are personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure. Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate: The ability to communicate with other members of staff effectively The ability to build a strong professional relationship with the pupils and their families Assisting pupil achievement by monitoring learning against learning outcomes, informing the teacher of progress/problems Good organisational skills Good behaviour management skills Good basic English and Mathematics (GCSE Level 4 - 9 or equivalent) Good record keeping skills (Progress and medical where required) A passion for the impact teaching and learning can have on improving pupil outcomes A commitment to supporting the delivery of education of the highest standard BCHS is a Co-operative Academy which is firmly rooted in serving our community.
