The Governors require a Learning Mentor with the following skills/attributes: show dedication and patience in working with pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties rise to the physical and emotional challenges of working with pupils who are disaffected with education help our pupils make progress in all areas show commitment to understanding and improving the life circumstances of all our pupils be an excellent team player have high aspirations for all of our pupils build links with parents/carers and families make links with to external agencies The Governors of St Patrick’s Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The applicants will undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. The role is engaged in regulated activity and will therefore require a children’s barred list check. Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a self-disclosure. Experience working with young people with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties is an advantage. The successful candidate will entirely share our commitment and dedication to our young people. No matter what behaviours and challenges are faced day to day, you will remain resilient and ambitious for our pupils and will take every opportunity to celebrate success.
