About the role

New Close Primary School is looking for a dedicated and inspiring Class Teacher to join its vibrant team on a maternity cover contract and support pupils in KS2 , with effect from September 2026 . Contract: Maternity cover contract (effective from September 2026). Working Hours: Part-time (0.8 FTE). Required: September 2026 We are a caring and inclusive non-denominational, growing school, situated in the garrison town of Warminster, Wiltshire. We are at the heart of our local community and pride ourselves on getting to know each of our pupils, and their families/carers, so that we can provide them with the support they need and help them to develop as individuals. Our nurturing team are committed to providing the best possible education for all of our pupils, while our strong values system helps contribute to the positive and calm atmosphere found in every classroom. With the support of Acorn Education Trust, we have transformed our learning environments and curriculum, and are very proud to be graded as ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted in our most recent inspection.

We are looking for someone who:

Is committed to becoming a truly excellent teacher; Can teach a broad range of engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire and improve student attainment; Can plan and deliver lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and students make superior progress; Is able to raise attainment and challenge students to achieve their best; Has a commitment to extra-curricular activities; Has good knowledge and awareness of current initiatives in Key Stage 2; Is an effective team member who can contribute positively to our team and across the wider school community; Has a positive, cheerful outlook with a good sense of humour; Is able to forge good relationships with students and staff; Is able to work hard and remain calm under pressure; Has a desire to work within the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) structure.
